Boar
Boar Pursuivant is a deputy to Lions Blood Herald and is responsible for receiving mail and data entry. They are responsible for checking the College's PO Box. They are also responsible for scanning any paper submissions and providing the electronic copies to Lion's Blodd. The ensure the timely deposit of any funds received via mail and coordinate with Pursestrings regarding such deposits. They may also perform other duties as assigned, including assisting in the processing of electronic submissions or assisting with preparing letters for OSCAR.
This position does not require knowledge of heraldry. It is, however, an excellent entry point for individuals interested in how heraldry submissions are processed. Those interested in being Lions Blood at some point are especially encouraged to apply for Boar.
This position requires:
- Between 10 and 20 hours/month depending on size of letter and your skill level.
- Regular internet and computer access.
- Good communication and time management skills, including ability to meet regular, recurring deadlines.
- Attention to detail, and good proofreading abilities.
- Ability to receive and learn from feedback.
- Discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality, as submission forms may include submitters personal information.
- Knowledge of heraldic submissions process & standards.
Beneficial, but not required:
- Some rudimentary knowledge of HTML tags (basic text formatting in particular).
- Access to and knowledge of a basic image editing program (ability to rotate and crop jpgs) - e.g. Paint (Microsoft Windows), Preview (Mac OS).
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Check the College's PO Box.
- Review, scan and rename scans of paper submission forms per Lions Blood policy, including copying and cropping armory forms.
- Ensure the timely deposit of any funds received.
- Coordinate with Pursestrings regarding any deposists.
- Communicate regularly with Lions Blood regarding the submissions received, the status of the letter in progress, any issues or concerns, and upcoming deadlines.
- Other duties as assigned.
